South African Parliament passes anti-harmful content bill, despite concerns over data protection and freedom of speech

On March 6, 2018, the South African National Assembly passed the Films and Publications Amendment Bill, which intends to protect children from exposure to disturbing and harmful content online, tackle "revenge porn" and hate speech.
